Default Do You Use Music?

I find some music to be very relaxing. When I'm on the computer working or driving in heavy traffic, I prefer classical music, usually instrumental tunes when I'm trying to concentrate.

Do others here use music to relax, meditate or otherwise?

Yes-- music sets your mood--- it can calm you down when you are hyped up-- it can relax you when you are stressed-- and it also energizes you when you are stuck in a rut.
I love music- I listen to it all the time... I'm not much into classical though.

Music is a definite mood booster as well as a destressor. I listen to all kinds of music. I listen to alternative or rock when I'm exercising or cleaning the house. Sometimes I even listen to meditation music when I'm cooking. The kind of music that I choose depends on my mood at the time or the mood that I'm trying to achieve. I've noticed that slow classical music has a tendency to calm my children down. I've read that classical music can also make your children smarter.

Yep I have read that too-- classical music can make them smarter- I almost think that is when they are younger though (infants)- I could be wrong.
Music does great things.

I like Andrew Lloyd Webber, the one who wrote "The Phantom of the Opera." I am not very fond of the Phantom's story, but the music is magical.

I also like Mozart. He was a genius... And I like waltzes, even though I can't dance it.

My son's second grade teacher played classical music in class for them to help them better concentrate. I started doing that at home as well whenever he was having a hard time concentrating or understanding something. It seemed to help. He has an MP3 player that we have downloaded some classical music onto. He had to learn the states and capitals at the end of 3rd grade. So we used his headphones with the MP3 player on classical music for him to study. He seemed to struggle less and learned the capitals easier.
