Default How To Husk Your Own Corn

Growing your own corn is the best option to ensure that it hasn't been chemically treated with pesticides making it healthier for you and your family. Buying corn from a local farmer's market is also a good option because, not only does it help the local economy, but it gives you the opportunity to ask the farmer personally about any chemicals that might have been used in the growing process. The following article shows you how to husk your own corn.

What kind of corn do you grow or buy? What variety has the best flavor in your opinion? Do you have any other tips? If so, please share. Thanks!

In my opinion, I like the Peaches and Cream variety because it has a sweet taste. What do you think?

I agree with you. Peaches and cream is our favorite due to its sweetness. When you cook it, whether on or off the cob, it doesn't even need any salt, butter or sugar.

A friend shared another tip with me a long time ago about removing the silks from corn. Use a toothbrush to remove those last silks that washing doesn't remove.

My kids love to do this. We usually buy corn in town at the famers maket and bring it home and shuck it. They get the silks everywhere in the yard an all but they feel like they have done something after we get done. It usually takes me all day to get it done when they help but hey what else would I be doing.
