Yes breastmilk can take on a different flavor depending on what you eat. I don't know this from personal experience....only from what I've read.lol. Also what makes mom gassy will probably make baby a bit gassy as well. I don't have a problem with wheat that I know of but when I cut it out of my diet, my son stopped trying to pass gas all night and was almost sleeping through the night. I didn't have to be super picky about what I ate...just had to cut way back for a few months. I had to add it back in slowly and cut back if he acted gassy. When he was an infant, the pediatrician referred us to the hospital for testing because he grunted nonstop. He had to go all night without breastmilk and could only have pedialyte(they were doing a biopsy and didn't want him to have a tummy full of milk). That was the first night he didn't grunt so the gastro. dr. said it was obvious that it must be something I was eating. All his other tests came back fine but the blood test showed that something was irritating his digestive system(something about inflamed cells...I can't remember it all now). Anyway, sorry to write a book. lol.
