Default Surprising Uses For Honey

1. Hungover? Spoon a few tablespoons of honey on toast to feel better. Honey is loaded with fructose which speeds up the metabolism of alcohol.

2. Got a boo boo? Thanks to honey's natural antibacterial properties, it is a great natural remedy to sooth minor scrapes, cuts, or burns. For best results, apply twice daily.

3. Got a nagging cough? Try two teaspoons of honey. Honey coats the throat and helps thin mucus. (Don't give to babies under 1 though because they may have a reaction).

4. Use honey as a body polisher. You can get soft, smooth skin using honey in a homemade body scrub. Mix 1/4 cup honey, 3/4 cup raw sugar, and 1/4 cup olive oil. Rub the mixture into wet skin, and then rinse it off.

I use "honey tea" to relieve cough or sore throat: just mix 1-2 teaspoons honey in a cup of hot water and drink. It is easy to make and it tastes good. I have also noticed that this honey tea helps to sleep better.

We use honey to sweeten our hot tea. My children even ask for it whenever their throats are bothering them.

That's a good thing to teach your children BrownEyedGirl! I am grateful to my parents and grandparents for teaching me different natural remedies.
