Default Toothache Remedy

I have been suffering a major toothache the last few days. Finally I broke down and bought some cloves and bit them a time or two then stuck them on the side of the tooth that was bothering me and ta da it feels so much better.

I am not sure if they can be used long term or not and I know that some people do not chew them first (cause they taste kinda icky) but I think they work better to give them a chew or 2 then set them in my cheek near the achy tooth. --> it really works!

You mean garlic cloves? That's very interesting! I know that garlic kills bacteria and helps to fight off infection; I was once advised by a doctor to eat garlic during the flu season, and it helped. I did not know that garlic also helps against toothache.

A simple remedy I know to relieve toothache is rinsing your mouth with salted water. It is said to bring temporary relief.

Thanks for sharing that. You can also place a small slice of onion on the affected tooth for relief. Onions have bactericidal properties that kill germs as well. Are you going to the dentist? Let me know what happens.

Thank you for sharing that one too. I've used saltwater for toothaches before as well. I mix two to three teaspoons of salt in a glass of lukewarm water. The salt draws out some of the fluids that cause the swelling thus relieving pressure and causing a general soothing effect. The saltwater rinse also cleans the areas around the infected tooth.
